What the leaders of ISIS are trying to assert their legitimacy with is that they are seeking to attribute themselves to the Messenger of God, the Prophet of Islam. ( Mohammad who is last messenger that received the Qur’an and taught it )
The first thing they cite to express this false legitimacy is a Tradition that It is not a true Tradition and has no credible source:
acording to this Tradition Muhammad that is the last prophet of God about Islamic government says:
” the Islamic government needs the Book of God and a bolo to carry it out “
NOTE: bolo or sword means any Something which war and strife occur with it
It should be noted that many Sunnis are not aware of the authenticity of this Tradition and do not believe it.
NOTE: Tradition is a quote from the Prophet or the Imams attributed to them.
One of the most recited Traditions that the Sunnis have written in their books and which has been repeatedly confirmed and emphasized by Shiites and Sunnis is the Tradition of thaqalayn.
The story of the Tradition of thaqalayn begins when the Holy Prophet of Islam was returning from the last Hadj of his last blessed Year of life when God revealed to him that in this place (where the pond of Ghadir Khumm is named) , he should gather everyone together and Appoint Ali as the successor of the Prophet in religion. According to this Tradition , when Mohammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) gathered all the people together, he delivered a long sermon, noting that:
Indeed, I leave among you two heavy and expensive things, that if you cling to them, you will never go astray after me: the Book of God and my family (Imamate) , and these two will not be separated from each other to come to me by the pool of Kosar, ( in paradise ) so “See how you treat the two after me. Be aware that this (ie, adhering to it) is pleasant and sweet water, so drink it, and the other (ie, turning away from them) is salty and bitter water, and avoid it.”
acording to the what says: Imamate is an important pillar of Islamic government that ISIS ignore it.
ISIS is a government in which Muslims are considered purely Sunni. Those other than these people, from any sect or group, whether Shiites, Christians, Jews, etc., are all infidels according to ISIS , and killing them is permissible.
Here we have two hadiths:
In fact, it is clear that ISIS , which has risen from the Sunni tribe and seeks to make enemies of the Shiites and ignore imamate, does not trust its books ( In which the hadith of thaqalayn is mentioned and in a way it violates the hadith of the sword ) and does not accept them. In fact, it can be said how a government that does not accept its foundation wants to gain legitimacy.
ISIS is trying to divide Shiites and traditionalists. In this regard, he also makes great use of Wahhabi Salafis.
But when you look at the fatwas of the Sunnis, and even some Wahhabis, you see that they themselves (most of them) have mocked and criticized the legitimacy of ISIS .
According to many Sunni and Shiite scholars, ISIS is originally a growing group of Khawarij of the religion ( Khawarij Those who have turned away from the religion do not belong to the Sunnis or the Shiites). These people date back to the Nehruvan war. , and they cannot even be considered Sunni Muslims. Because in their actions, even the tradition of the Prophet and the Qur’an (which they emphasize) are insulted and ignored.
For the Shiites and those who are aware of the life and battle of Muhammad, the Messenger of God, it is quite clear that the hadith of the sword is an unreal and undocumented hadith. From the utterance of this hadith and what we read many times in the Qur’an, what comes to mind about religion and the Holy Prophet is completely different from the hadith of the sword.
Everywhere in the Holy Quran, it is said that the Prophet is a preacher of mercy and forgiveness. Even somewhere in the Qur’an, addressed to the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, he has repeatedly warned about his great compassion:
AL-kahf-6
Ash-Shu’ara -3,4
Fater- 8
TAHA -2
Therefore, it is very clear that this hadith does not have legitimacy according to the principles and direct sentences of the Qur’an. Therefore, it can be said that ISIS’s claim for legitimacy is completely illegitimate.
